Can Patna Pirates sail through the Final of PKL Season 8?
Can Patna Pirates win their fourth PKL title? |
The most successful PKL team and three times Champion Patna Pirates have an extreme run in PKL season 8. The Pirate’s Cruise has crushed almost every team that has come in its way till now. But now it’s final and the big question is can they beat Dabang Delhi and win their fourth title. Patna Pirates were the table-toppers after league matches and they had a comprehensive win in the semi-finals against U.P Yoddha.
The last two seasons were unforgettable for the team as they were not able to make the playoffs. The release of the most successful Raider in PKL history Pradeep Narwal was a shocker for fans. But Coach Ram Mehar Singh has some different plans for his side and he completely changed the team. This time he made an unformidable team that was not dependent on single-player performance. The team has a significant run this season and they are great in both their raiding and defence. Here are some Pirates who boosted the sail of Patna’s cruise.
1. Sachin Tanwar
Former Gujrat Giants player Sachin Tanwar was the most expensive player bought by Patna Pirates in the PKL season 8 auction. He has been the Best Raider for them this season with 163 points in 22 matches with 5 super 10’s. The fans will hope he will perform in the finals and make Pirates Champion.
2. Prashant Kumar Rai
The Veteran Player has played a great role for the side both as a captain and a supporting raider to Sachin. Rai has not done many raids but he had taken points when the team was in need. The Captain has 93 points in 22 matches. He would like to Win a Trophy for his side as a captain.
3. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh Shadolu
The Iranian Defender has been a find of this season. He was the most expensive foreign player in auctions. The left corner Shadolu has been brutal to the raiders and a star in Defence for Patna. He is the best defender of the season with 87 tackle points in 23 games. He also has broken the record for most High 5’s in a season. He has 10 high 5’s to his name. If he performs today then no one can stop the Pirates from winning the title.
4. Neeraj Kumar
He was one of the retained players of Patna Pirates. The star defender has shown why he has been retained in the squad. The right cover has 53 tackle points in 22 games. He has also played as a leader of the defence for Patna this season. Ruthless Blocks and Powerfull dashes were highlights of his brilliant performance.
5. Sunil
In the right corner, Sunil has been a star for Patna. The defender has 49 tackle points in 22 games played so far. He also scored 4 High 5’s. The player has been an important pillar of Patna’s defence and great support for left corner Shadolu. We expect to witness his powerful ankle holds in the finals.
6. Monu Goyat
Monu has been a part of Patna in the earlier seasons but the experienced raider has been bought back in auctions to strengthen the raiding department. He has performed to his name and scored 77 raid points in 14 games. He got injured after the first half of the league and after that, he didn’t get many matches. We hope to see him in the finals. As his experience can help Patna against an experienced Delhi defence.
7. Guman Singh
Started his season as a substitute raider for the Pirates. But as the season progresses he has been one of their top raiders. The young raider has 86 raids points to his name with 4 super 10’s this season. He also scored 20 raid points in do-or-die situations. His running hand touch is one of its key attacking skills and we hope to see it in the finals.
The journey to win the finals will not be an easy one for the Pirates. They will compete against Dabang Delhi who was the second-best team in the league in terms of points. Delhi is a very strong team with lights of Naveen Kumar, Ashu Malik and Vijay their raiding unit is very lethal. The defence also has some big names like Manjeet Chillar, Sudeep Narwal and Joginder Narwal.
So fans let support our team as the Pirate’s ship have to sail through a storm to seal the wins and create history.
